My Dad

My father is a White Conservative Republican Cop/Military Officer. That's right all of that. He went to VMI. He's a Dittohead. A supporter of Savage. AND he listens to Laura_Schlessinger. A woman who tells women to just lie there and let their husbands pump away as a way to prevent 'broken homes' and 'drug addict children'. She's a hypocrite. And my father bought a book by her for my mother for Christmas one year. 'The proper Care and Feeding of Husbands' because, of course, relationship problems are ONLY the woman's fault. Not the fault of a passive aggressive asshole of a husband.
I think that's partially why I am a feminist, and why I want to be childfree. I've seen a crappy relationship. And I've recognized some of my Dad's qualities and my Mother's personality quirks that would make life hell for any kids I would have if I were married. My parents really should have gotten divorced a long time ago. But my Mother thinks it'd be best for my brother, sister and I if they stayed together. Its a marriage of convenience- my mother makes considerably less than my father. He's also said that he would only pay 100 dollars a month in child support. How sick is that?
Another reason is my highschool. The most liberal school in Las Vegas. I spent years having my ideas challenged, and I grew up. I am really truly greatful for them. Otherwise, I would not be th person I am today, nor would I have the friends I have.
